The experience of Exercise Adherence related to the quality of life, particularly with the older Elderly
Ryoo Chung-Ja

Kim Seon-Hee
Abstract
The study participants were 12 senior citizens living in Kyungbuk province, chosen through convenience sampling. The data was collected by individual in-depth interview from October to November, 2015. Through analysis of the collected data, it was found that the common property of the consistent-excercise factor was `improved quality of life`. The essential categories were, `maintaining independent life`, `health as a gift`, `life lived together`, `improved self-esteem`, `optimistic attitude in life`, `gratitude towards the country`. The elderly that continued to excercise had an aim to pursue everyday-life successfully, with a strong will to carry on independently without having to depend their golden years on his or her children. And they expressed gratitude for the gym facilities provided by the municipality. They were discovering happiness through the social relations formed while excercising rather than their children who lived far away, expressing hope to lead a healthy and exciting remaining life.
